    In the mission to reflect and celebrate the times and life of his late grandmother Queen Mampoi Mopeli of Bakoena Royal Clan, the MEC of Corporate Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Honourable Peter Oupa Kgoabane who had paid a surprise visit to Bakoena Royal House in Namahali Village in supporting King Moremoholo Motebang Mopeli in celebrating the birthday of His Majesty’s grandmother who would have turned 93 on the day of the visit which was Wednesday the 10th October 2018.
    The celebration was at the school that was named after the Queen Mother, Mampoi High School in Namahali. Bearing the message of gratitude and appreciation towards late Queen Mother, the King was accompanied by MEC Kgoabane, , Prencess Manapo Mopeli and Family members, Traditional Leaders and government officials from both Maluti a Phofung and Thabo Mofutsanyana as they visited and engaged with school personnel and students who were handedout essential gifts. The celebration was also part of the MEC’s routine check of the inauguration preparation that is set to take place on Saturday 13 October 2018 at Charles Mopeli stadiums. The MEC said his snap visits was to support the king in celebrating his grandmothers birthday and also see how far are the final plans for the inauguration “it is significance to share the history of Basotho with the youth of this province because it shapes the confidence of Basotho people to persevere it for ages to come” said the MEC. He also said he is quite satisfied with how things have been put in place.

    Morena Mopeli encouraged the students to work hard in their studies and begged them not to let family backgrounds or circumstances determine the destination of each student. He encouraged the school and students to embrace their cultures and history just before he awarded the schools’ enable pupils with sanitary towels and promised to deliver schools for the school boys.
    MEC unexpected visit made the King rejoice with this to say “ kannete ke tlotla e kgolo hore ebe kena le Letona la Marena kwano hore retlo keteka tsatsi la tswalo la nkgono Mampoi” said his Majesty. He also reminded the learners to pass the message to their various communities to come out in numbers on Saturday and fill up Charles Mopeli stadium.
