    In preparation for the official Inauguration that is set to take place on 13 October 2018, on Wednesday the 26th of September 2018, His Royal Majesty King Moremoholo Motebang Mopeli and his family accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Maluti a Phofung (MAP) Cllr Gilbert Mokotso alongside the Members of the Mayoral Committee visited two (2) Primary Schools in Qwa Qwa namely Tataisong and Sentinel which were the fundamental phase of school for His Majesty. After motivating kids at both schools, His Majesty donated school shoes and educational toys to children as a symbol of appreciation towards the schools that strives to mould ethical, life-long learners equipped with skills to make a positive contribution to the community of MAP and surrounding areas.

    Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by cheering children as well as teachers and staff members in a show of love and loyalty towards the schools where he spent most of his juvenile days at. In his statement he stated that he wanted to come and spent a day with the children and gets a sense of what he went through in the 90’s as a kid. “These schools have played an important role in my life and they will forever be part of my history as they were my first tickets to my foundation phase at school” He stated. He later went to Elizabeth Ross District Hospital where he also donated clothes to the new born babies in Paediatric and Maternity wards as part of his efforts and expression of gratitude in reflection of his upbringing milestones. The Executive Mayor expressed the importance of working hand in hand with Traditional Leaders, schools and health care facilities as they play a pivotal role in the communities’ life “We have worked and continue to work closely with other stakeholders especially in MAP, to exchange ideas and ensure these initiatives are also supported and implemented in their respective areas,” he added.
