MAP AIMED TO HAVE ITS FUTURE SUPERSTARS

In pursuit to continue instilling the talent and discipline at an early stage through arts and culture, on Thursday the 30th August 2018 Maluti A Phofung Local Municipality (MAP) held a Municipal Crèche Competition in Sediba Community Hall in Tshiame.
Several Day Care Centres in Tshiame and surrounding areas came out in numbers to take part in the Competition at the hall, where the competition initiated by MAP Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation Directorate in advocacy of early childhood learning as being the key and proper foundation in children’s academic education. MAP Arts and Culture officer, Lebohang Mothibedi explains “our aim is to unlock children’s talent and for developing and guiding them through sports. Our municipality need to develop children from a very early age, especially in the arts to give them the confidence they would need in life” she expanded.
The judges adjudicated four categories in which the crèches could participate in, namely; drama, dancing, poetry and singing. Each crèche could participate in two of the categories. The performances were judged on the following criteria: originality, stage presence, presentation and overall performance. The three overall winners were Tsebong Edu Care, who won a trophy in first place, Sediba Day Care scooped second place and Siziphethe Crèche took third place.
With great celebration the teachers thanked the municipality and the Executive Mayor Cllr Gilbert Mokotso for the great opportunity and not forgetting their children, saying their children are the next Teboho Moloi’s, Pro Kid’s, Charlize Theron’s, Mandoza’s and Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s.
