MAYOR ANNOUNCE HIS NEWLEY ELECTED TEAM OF 10 FOR HIS TENURE IN OFFICE

Qwa Qwa- the Executive Mayor of Maluti a Phofung (MAP), Cllr Gilbert Mokotso, alongside Madam Speaker Cllr Malewatle Nthedi, Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs), Councillors and Acting Municipal Manager Kadimo Masekoane, held an employee’s meeting with all the staff members from of the municipality inside the packed Phuthaditjhaba Multipurpose Hall on the 24th July 2018.
The Executive Mayor said the main purpose of the meeting was to introduce the newly elected council leadership of Members of the Mayoral Committee ( MMCs) on his tenure in office and also encouraged to build a new working relationship with all employees who had lost hope since the municipality has been under administration earlier this year “Our mission is to normalise the current situation of the municipality, we know many of you has lost hope but I can ensure you that we are going to turn things around. My plea to you as employees is to be patient with us while we try harder to get this municipality out of administration since it’s the first time in our history to be in this situation” explained the Executive Mayor. He also reminded the workers of the direction the municipality is heading to normalise its current situation.
The newly elected MMCs are Cllr Raphael Mokoena for Corporate Services and Legal Affairs, Cllr Shashapa Motaung for Electricity and Infrastructure, Cllr Mojalefa Naledi for Local Economic Development, Tourism and Agriculture, Cllr Thabo Moloi for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Cllr Mamoroanyane Mositi for Finance, Cllr Matshediso Tsoeu-Mofokeng for Community Services, Cllr Nare Ramohloki for Public Safety, Security and Emergency Services, Cllr Pulane Makae for Special Programmes, Cllr Mary Crokette for Integrated Development Plan and Performance Management System and lastly Cllr Moeketsi Lebesa for Spatial Planning, Land Use Management Act, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs. The Unions Reps from SAMWU, NEHAWU and IMATU were also in attendance and pull their weight behind the Executive Mayor and his current leadership.
